From a Bayan of Hazrat Abrarul Haque (R) – Khalifa Hazrat Ashraf Ali Thanvi (R), which Hz Abrarul Haque (R) delivered in Dhaka, 8th Rabiwul Awwal 1401 Hijri

Once an Islamic Scholar (an Alim) came to Hazrat Imdadullah Muhajiri Makki (R) [Well known as Haji Saheb (R)]. The Scholar told Haji Saheb (R) that I would make Tawba and be in your company. He then mentioned about his incapability to say Tahajjud Prayers – he said he would not pray Tahajjud. Haji Saheb (R) did not tell him anything and just made him Mureed (spiritual aspirant) . The Mureed stayed with Haji Saheb (R) in the same room that night. At late night (according to his habbit) Haji Saheb (R) was saying Tahajjud Prayers. The Mureed woke at that time and was observing Haji Saheb (R) performing Tahajjud Prayers. Observing this, Mureed could not keep himself on bed – he got up; did Wudu; said Tahajjud Prayers too. This Mureed later informed that since that very night – never ever in his life did he miss Tahajjud Prayers. This is the effect of the Company of the Pious.
