Be Sincere and Do Zikr as much as possible

Hafejji Hujur (R) [Khalifa of Hakeemul Ummah Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (R)]‘s Malfuzat

Part of a Majlis held on 16th Zilqad, 1400 Hijri (Translated from the book ‘Behester Poth O Patheo’)

One should absorb attentively in the good deed on which s/he is engaged in (Hazrat said this to make us understand the value of time and carry on responsibilities properly). One student was absorbed in studies to such an extent that instead of water he swallowed oil. For being engrossed in studies, he couldn’t just get about what he got through! Our Hazrat Thanvi (R) never felt comfortable unless he finished the task on hand. There are many people who spends huge amount of money useless. Whereas, they could have got lots of ‘Sawab’ (reward) if they had spent it for the promotion of Deen. If one does business in the intention of serving Deen, it would be a work of great reward. The greatest of services is to provide Deeni-Ta’leem (teach Deen to other people). Only to teach Sura Fatiha bears a Reward much Greater than the value of this world. Therefore, however may be a service of Deen rendered, through money, intellect or Ta’leem – it must be done (and not neglected). While accomplishing any task keep the remembrance of Allah Taala. Recite ‘Astagfirullah’ and ‘Darood’ in abundance. Not a moment should be spared without Zikr (Remembrance of Allah Taala). While at work and in the gaps of work we can always do some Zikr.
