How to prepare for Ramadan

Ramadan – so much to say about this Holy Month, so much to think and plan and so much to arouse the fikr in this Blessed Month! But, the whole Ummah – where are we? What plans are we doing? Individually each of us must ask to oneself: what am I doing? will this be the Ramadan in which I’ll get salvation? Am I planning and approaching the Ramadan in the way Allah Taala and Rasul Sallallahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam would be pleased? For a Muslim, this is enough that s/he get salvation, forgiveness of Allah Taala.

Let us become happy and let us become overwhelmed with joy that Ramadan is once more coming in our lives (Inshallah)…!!! While this article is being complied, it is still Sha’ban – the 23rd, and Inshallah many readers would be reading this in the glorious and happiest moments of Ramadan 1430 Hijri. Alhamdulillah!

Our gift for you – all the Readers, rather for all the Muslims is this file. .

You need Microsoft Excel to read the file. The file has no copyright. It is for free distribution. You may modify it and use it as you wish and circulate. Please note: there are two tabs/two sheets in the file: 1. Plan and 2. Report

Just a minutes of look would inshallah make you understand how you work on it. While preparing the sheets there wasn’t any plan that one would be able to print it. So if you wish to take a print, you need to set up and fix the Page Layout in Excel, otherwise there will be problem.

We earnestly request all Muslims to do these few things in Ramadan:

1. Specially take care of Fasting, Saying 20 Rakaat Tarawi Prayers, Iftar and Sahri

2. Become very sincere about saying Salat/Prayers 5 times a day in Jamaat.

3. Abundantly read the Holy Quran – Ramadan is the month of Quran Revelation

4. Refrain from all sins – make a sincere repentance to refrain from sins throughout the life, i.e. till death.

5. Do abundant Dua, Tawba and Istegfar – very sincerely and excessively

- ask Allah Taala for all blessings and support.

6. Read, think and act on the Verses of Quran and Hadith, which are about Ramadan, its Blessings

7. Start an effort to change life, don’t just only make dua and just sit without making efforts! Make practical efforts for progressing your spiritual life! Think more about the life hereafter. Going to Tableeg, going to a Pious Man – Spiritual Mentor would inshallah show the Righteous Path.

Now it is our duty to make a Routine and work hard to gain more from Ramadan. Let us not hope that we have more time in life. Let us not get deceived by thinking that next year I will be alive. Who knows!!! This might be my last and final Ramadan! O Allah Bless us! O Allah Forgive us!

The non-believers are making heart and soul efforts for this dunya, the worldly life. We, the Muslims cannot be like them! Our target and our desire should be Akhirat. Allah Taala has said,

But you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is much better and much more durable. Sura Al-A’la 16-17

Now we may judge by ourselves that what is our stand! What do we prefer? What did our Guardian, the Beloved Prophet Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam prefer? Surely, it was Akhirat – the life hereafter. Let us adorn this Ramadan with the fikr and thoughts of Akhirat and rear eternal success.
